The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia celebrated 4 years since its establishment in Museum of Science and Technology.
During these 4 years, we opened 8 programs and provided 74.5 million euros through the budget of the Republic of Serbia and SAIGE – a partnership project of the Republic of Serbia, World bank and European Union.
The funds are intended for investing in the work of researchers, equipment and consumables, international cooperation, publishing and promoting results, as well as other activities necessary for the development of science and research.
So far, 298 projects have been supported through our programs. We expect that by the end of 2023, the number of supported projects will be more than 450.
Researchers from these projects achieve significant results, which is evidenced by the large number of published scientific publications (1520), of which 981 are papers in international journals and 223 papers in top journals (categories M21 and M21a).
We continue with the same goal: supporting scientific research projects and strengthening science in Serbia.
In 2023, we are opening 4 new programs with a total budget of 33 million euros.
The guest were adressed by Acting Director of Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Milica Đurić-Jovičić, World Bank Country Manager for Serbia Mr. Nicola Pontara, Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of European Union to the Republic of Serbia Mr. Nicola Bertolini, and Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Jelena Begović.
On this occasion, the new PROMIS 2023 public call for young researchers and scientists in the early stages of their careers was announced.
