The first Program funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia is the Program for excellent projects of young researchers (PROMIS). The program aims to support ideas from all fields of science and to involve young scientists in scientific research. Through the training of young PhDs for management and application process of projects at national and international levels, this program will also work to strengthen professional capacities at an early stage in their careers.
Accordingly, projects supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia under this Program will be exclusively managed by young Ph.D. They will have the opportunity to form their own teams, with which they can apply for two-year projects, with a budget up to 200.000 EUR per project. The funds are intended for all fields of science, and the Call for projects of young researchers will be open until 02.09.2019. A two-stage international review is planned for all accepted projects, according to the model used in the Horizon program.
The program is formed by a model of the European ERC grant and other EU and US funds that have specially designed programs to support excellent young people at an early stage in their careers.
