The Science Europe organization held its General Assembly on November 19 in Oslo, where the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia was represented by Acting Director Prof. Dr. Daria Kisić and Program Manager Ana Stojanović Zdravev. The General Assembly addressed key topics related to the organization’s operations, as well as its future activities. During the session, a new Governing Board was elected, discussions were held on the preparation of the new Strategic Plan for the 2027–2031 period, and the Work Plan for 2026 was adopted.
The General Assembly was held ahead of the 17th workshop dedicated to the European Research Area, titled “High-level Workshop on the European Research Area,” which took place from November 18–20, organized by the Research Council of Norway (RCN), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and Science Europe.
Acting Director Prof. Dr. Daria Kisić, together with heads of leading science funding organizations in Europe and representatives of ministries from Science Europe member countries, discussed how research and innovation within the European framework can be adapted to a rapidly changing global environment. The workshop focused on the importance of international cooperation and competitive research funding, the future European Union research and innovation funding programme for the 2028–2034 period (FP10 – Framework Programme for Research and Innovation), as well as anticipated changes in research funding mechanisms introduced by this programme.
