A Conference dedicated to the promotion of the Strategy for Research and Innovation for Smart Specialization (RIS3) was organized in the Science Technology Park Zvezdara in Belgrade on March 29th 2019.

The gathering was attended by the industry and science representatives, innovators, policy makers, decision-makers as well as by representatives of civil society.

The goal of drafting the Strategy (coordinated by the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development) is to identify the areas of specialization in which the Republic of Serbia achieves its competitive advantages and potential. Smart Specialization is an approach to development that enables regions and countries to identify and develop according to locally-recognised competitive advantages. These competitive advantages are identified through a public-private dialogue between different stakeholders known as an Entrepreneurial Discovery Process. This event marked the beginning of workshops in Serbia that will be organized within the EDP process.
