The Acting Director of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Professor Nenad Filipović, PhD, visited Banja Luka, where he participated in the International Scientific Conference “Advanced Materials”, organized by the Department of Natural and Mathematical Sciences of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska in cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Alma Mater Europaea, and the Technical University of Gabrovo (Bulgaria).
The aim of the conference is to provide a comprehensive and multidisciplinary overview of current developments in the field of advanced materials and their applications in science, technology, and industry. During the conference, within the plenary session, Professor Filipović delivered a lecture on how artificial intelligence can support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
During his visit to Banja Luka, the Acting Director of the Science Fund also held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska. The meeting focused on opportunities for cooperation and the development of joint programs supporting research projects. Professor Filipović also presented the Science Fund’s current results and activities.
The meeting was attended, in addition to Professor Nenad Filipović, by Zoran Bjelajac, Assistant Minister for Scientific and Technological Development; Sanela Vukliševic, Head of the Department for Research Programs; and Biljana Keserović Mutić, Head of the Department for Innovation and Emerging Technologies, on behalf of the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska.
